Ability to talk without words

SAWTELL’S Don McKetin said he had painted a house, but had never had any artistic ambitions until he picked up a paintbrush two months ago.

“I am surprised I like it,” Mr McKetin said.

“And I like the humour of it.”

His work is included in the Talking Without Words exhibition, which opened at the North Coast Regional Botanic Garden yesterday and will remain on show from 10am to 4pm until Friday.

A unique exhibition featuring artworks from people with memory loss, it is the result of a joint project made possible by Alzheimer’s Australia NSW, Home and Community Care and UnitingCare Ageing Red Dove Social Group.
