Coffs netball on again

COFFS Harbour Netball kicks off its 2010 season tonight with the launch of the Muffin Break Wednesday Night Ladies Competition.

With 24 teams lining up over three divisions this season should prove to be very competitive.

The growing popularity of netball in the region has been underlined by the fact that Brian Hopwood Homes has come on board this year as a new sponsor and they will be supporting Division 3 in 2010 while the Coffs Hotel are back to sponsor Division 1.

Last week the Opens representative team was selected and with these players competing in various teams across Division 1, together with other representative under-age teams, this competition will be one to watch.

The Opens team will be complemented by the Premier League Team selected last year, who are poised to begin their round robin competition within the North Coast region in the next few weeks.

This team is hoping to go one step better than last year’s performance after coming runners-up to a very well drilled Hastings Valley team.
