RESIDENTS lifted a car off a woman who was hit and pinned by the vehicle in a Brisbane driveway overnight.

The 32-year-old woman was hit by the car in the driveway of an Ironwood Street home in Aspley about 9.40pm on Sunday.

She was taken by ambulance to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

"Other people lifted the vehicle to remove the woman," a police spokeswoman said.

It is not clear how many residents came to the woman's aid.
