Neighbourhood help is always at hand in hinterland
THE hinterland boasts an array of community groups and centres with a focus group for everyone's interests.
This week's featured centre is the Landsborough Neighbourhood Centre at Morris House.
The centre was named in recognition of the Morris family, which worked for many years in the local community and donated the original house where the centre was set-up.
The centre as it stands today was opened in 1998 and provides valuable community services to the folk in surrounding areas.
Services offered are:

* access to photocopiers and other office equipment for jobseekers.

* emergency relief
* food and bread
* a JP, available Wednesdays and other times by appointment.
* tax help
* resume-writing assistance
* No interest loan scheme (NILS) loans

THE Horizon Festival is coming to the Sunshine Coast from August 25. The program has been released and promises to be 10 days of creative arts featuring performances, street art, music, comedy and film by local, national and international artists at various venues.
Nambour Winter Jazz
THE Nambour Winter Jazz Fest is on at the C-Square complex, Nambour, tomorrow from noon to Saturday 29th July, 12pm-9.30pm. Enjoy various types of jazz music, swing, soul jazz and more.
Antique car club swap meet
SUNSHINE Coast Antique Car Club's annual Nambour Swap Meet tomorrow at Nambour Showgrounds. Motor enthusiasts are invited to buy, sell or swap anything to do with vintage, veteran, classic or modern cars. The event is being held from on Saturday 29th July. 6am to noon. Steam train rides
MODEL Railway Park has miniature diesel and live steam trains to ride in and learn about on the fourth Sunday of every month, except December, from 10am to 3pm, in Florence St, Nambour.
