National Stronger Regions Fund on lookout for more projects

AN INFORMATION session for groups seeking grants from the National Stronger Regions Fund (NSRF) will be held in Coffs Harbour on May 28.

Representatives from the investment division of the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development will conduct the one hour sessions for potential applicants and interested parties, with an opportunity for questions.

NSRF is an initiative to boost social and economic development by funding priority infrastructure projects in regional communities.

One recent project involved Nambucca Shire Council receiving $241,340 for the South Nambucca Sewerage Infrastructure Construction Project.

The project will provide for the installation of a sewage disposal system which will create opportunities for residential and commercial development along the Nambucca River, as well as enable the continued operation of two tourism accommodation sites.

The Australian Government has committed $1 billion to the fund over five years.

Funding will be provided for capital projects which involve construction of new infrastructure, or the upgrade or an extension to existing infrastructure.

To attend the Coffs Harbour session, email nsrf@infrastructure.gov.au

A venue will be advised by return email.
