Narrow crash escape

A TEENAGER cheated death when he lost control of an allegedly stolen car on the Pacific Highway south of Urunga early yesterday.

Police said the 16-year-old was driving south in a white 1998 Nissan Pulsar sedan at 1.40am when he lost control and crossed to the wrong side of the road, narrowly missing two oncoming B-doubles.

The car then careered into trees on the western side of the road.

The youth managed to scramble free despite his broken leg and was admitted to Coffs Harbour Health Campus.

Police allege the car had been stolen from Valla just before the accident happened.

Their inquiries continue.
