Nance celebrates 105th year

NANCE Canham has achieved a milestone that most people never see.

The Coffs Harbour great grandmother turned 105 last week, making her one of the Coffs Coast's oldest residents.

Mrs Canham, whose birthday parties have been making news each year since she turned 100, was the guest of honour at a family gathering at the Legacy Nursing Home where she lives.

The senior's senior has not yet lost her legendary appetite for chocolate, although these days soft centres are the order.

Her daughter-in-law Peg Canham said Mrs Canham's surviving son Barry came from Sydney for the occasion with his partner Judith, his daughter Naomi McCarthy and her two children.
