Name and shame group dobs in disabled park abusers

IF you think you might do a sneaky and illegally park in a disabled parking space while ducking into the shops, think again... there's plenty out there waiting to snap, name and shame you.

Thousands of people have joined together in the form of a public Facebook group to name and shame disability car park 'abusers.'

The group titled Australian Disability Parking Wall of Shame has already gained plenty of followers.

The page aims to stamp out people parking in disability parking spaces without a permit.

"Despite a million news articles and awareness raising projects by people with disability, people without permits are still parking in disability parking bays," the page reads.

WHAT'S MAKING NEWS TODAY

"Lots of other people with disability are 'naming and shaming' people on Facebook. Start using your iPhone, guys."

The page invites members of the public to take photos and post them to the page of cars, with the number plate exposed along with the time, place and date it happened.

However it does warn posters to be careful to look for disability permits.

"Please, check for the permit before you post - many disabilities are not obvious."

Disability driver Wayne Sorensen told The Daily about the page.

He felt it was time something was done about people who felt they were 'above the law.'
