Nambucca VRA rescue man trapped by Pacific Highway crash

A MAN suffered severe arm injuries after being trapped in his overturned vehicle on the Pacific Highway near Valla.

Around 5.30am Saturday, the vehicle rolled about 200m south of the Valla Beach turn-off.

The driver was caught underneath the vehicle, pinned by his elbow.

Police and Rural Fire Service officers attended the scene and an alert was sent to the Nambucca District VRA for specialist assistance.

The highway was closed while volunteers worked to lift the vehicle off the driver and after being released he was transported to Coffs Harbour Health Campus suffering serious contusions to one arm.

Traffic police maintained a one lane contra flow while the operation continued and the highway was fully reopened just after 6.30am.
