Nambucca Valley a Voxie finalist

NAMBUCCA Valley Radio is excited to announce it was an award finalist in two categories in ‘The Voxies’ – the prestigious annual awards for excellence in community radio.

The Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) each year judges nominations from community radio stations from all over Australia, recognising their important contribution to broadcasting.

2NVR presenter Ceri Wrobel, nominated in five categories, was delighted to discover two of them had been named as finalists in The Voxies, particularly as one of them was for Most Outstanding Small Station. This is a great honour and well deserved recognition for all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes, by numerous volunteers, to bring you Community Radio.

The second Voxie finalist was The Tony Garner Excellence in Sports Programming. Ceri nominated sports reports which included interviews at the polocrosse national championships, team penning, Coonabarabran Equestrian Expo, a popular interview with John Stanton, local horse legend and Macksville dog trials.

The CBAA sought to acknowledge reporting of sports which usually receive little coverage.

The award finalist certificates have arrived in time to be proudly displayed at Tewinga Hall, the new home of 2NVR 105.9FM. To learn more about your community radio, check out www.2nvr.org.au.
