Mum 'over the moon' to have won $1000 in toys

TWO lucky Gladstone girls can look forward to a bumper Christmas haul this year thanks to $1000 in toy vouchers from The Observer.

Danni Hawke said she was "absolutely over the moon” when she won two $500 toy vouchers in the Ton of Toys competition.

"I received a phone call Monday afternoon from one of the ladies here at The Observer ... I wasn't expecting anything like that at all,” Mrs Hawke said.

"It's mind blowing - I just still can't believe it.”

She said her and her husband Ashley had been buying the newspaper everyday to collect and submit as many entires as possible to win the prize for their daughters Charlie, 7, and Chelsea, 8.

Mrs Hawke said the prize money could be used at Woolworths and BIG W and that she would save the vouchers for Christmas shopping, using them to buy presents for her niece and nephew too.

Chelsea said she was excited by the win and looked forward to the prospect of an extra fun Christmas.

She also said the family had bigger plans for the holidays than just unwrapping presents, with a trip planned to Sea World.
