Mum is the word
IT WAS a celebration in black, white and sepia at Thursday's Bonville/Boambee VIEW Club meeting.
To acknowledge Mother's Day, members and guests were asked to bring along photographs of their mothers or grandmothers.
The beautiful collection of photos caused much conversation and even a few giggles about hairstyles and fashions.
The meeting was not all talk of mothers and memories of childhood. It was also a chance to celebrate a milestone for the club.
"This Thursday was our official coming of age - we turned 18," publicity officer Lesley Carroll said.
"VIEW stands for Voice Interests and Education of Women and our local club is part of a 350-club nationwide network.
"VIEW is a women's organisation focused on supporting and advocating for young disadvantaged Australians in need. As a valued part of the Smith Family, VIEW members contribute fundraising and volunteering support to help Australian children in need reach their potential through education.
"And we also have a lot of fun, enjoy great friendships and get together for occasional social outings.
"We all enjoy the social aspect of this friendly club but it is as sponsor to the Smith Family Learning for Life program that brings so much reward."
Guests and visitors are always welcomed to the Bonville/Boambee VIEW Club which meets on the second Thursday of each month.
