Mum charged with deaths of three children after lake horror

A 36-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of her three children who died when the car they were in plunged into a lake in Melbourne's west in April.

Four-year-old twins Anger and Madit Manyang and their one-year-old brother Bol died when the car they were travelling in veered off the road and into Lake Gladman in Wyndham Vale on April 8.

Their five-year-old sister, Awel, survived when nearby residents ran into the lake and pulled her from the vehicle.

After a four-month investigation, police arrested Akon Guode, who was behind the wheel of a Toyota Kluger at the time.

She was charged with three counts of murder and one of attempted murder.
