MP Luke slams Rhoades

KEVIN Rudd, Jenny Macklin and anyone who defends the Government over their treatment of March 31 flood victims should hang their heads in shame, Cowper MP Luke Hartsuyker has said.

And an angry Hartsuyker has taken aim at Coffs Harbour mayor Keith Rhoades for what he believes is his inability to serve local flood victims.

“Mayor Keith Rhoades has become an apologist for a Government that is willing to play politics with people’s lives,” slammed Hartsuyker.

“Instead of standing up for the people he was elected to represent, he has stood hand in hand with the Rudd Government.

“He should hang his head in shame. He must demand equity for Coffs Coast flood victims.”

The comments come in the wake of an announcement from Community Services Minister Jenny Macklin that a token offer of assistance would be made available to those affected by the March 31 flood.
