Movies help boost flood appeal

BIRCH, Carroll & Coyle Coffs Harbour will donate $2 from every ticket sold at the movies tomorrow.

Funds will go directly to the Queensland Premier’s Flood Appeal and the Australian Red Cross Flood Appeal.

By joining the national cinema campaign, the Bray Street cinema intends to raise funds for flood victims.

Birch, Carroll & Coyle Coffs Harbour will screen many of the family summer movies like Disney’s Tangled (2D and 3D); music goddess Christina Aguilera in Burlesque as well as Oscar-nominated films The King’s Speech and The Fighter..

Coffs Harbour Cinemas are part of national entertainment brand, AHL. Due to the number of BCC staff affected by the floods in Toowoomba and Brisbane, AHL donated $100,000 to the Premier’s Flood Appeal.

Families can even save while supporting the flood appeal with the ‘F for Families’ program running all this week (just look for family films before 5pm carrying the F balloon).

Tickets for tomorrow are on sale now at the theatre box office or at www.eventcinemas.com.au.

A cinema spokesperson thanked people in advance for supporting the fundraiser and all those who have been affected by the floods.
