Motorcycle rider died at scene of incident west of Dorrigo

THE RIDER of a motorcycle involved in a crash west of Dorrigo on Saturday morning, died at the scene, police have confirmed.

Emergency services were called to Waterfall Way at Fernbrook just after 11am after a motorcycle ridden by a 59-year-old man collided with a Toyota Hilux.

Paramedics were quickly at the location and began to treat the man with CPR but it's believed he was declared deceased around 11.30am.

The Hilux driver, a 21-year-old man, and his 25-year-old female passenger weren't injured but were treated for shock.

The man also underwent mandatory blood and urine testing.

Lengthy delays were caused by the incident and Waterfall Way did not fully open to traffic until 8.25pm.

Police from Coffs-Clarence Local Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
