Motherhood urge can be hilarious
WHAT do you do when you are in your late 30s and start to panic that your time to have a baby is rapidly running out?
Would you ever consider advertising for a new male flatmate and father for your child?
That’s the premise of the hilarious new Australian play, Furiously Fertile, written by Rod Saunders and produced by Australia’s premier theatre touring company, HIT Productions, which will be coming to Coffs Harbour’s Jetty Memorial Theatre on March 18 and 19 at 8pm.
Nic is in her late 30s and suddenly finds the tick-tock of the biological clock unbearable.
Against her best friend’s advice she advertises for a new flatmate with the ulterior motive of looking for a father of her child.
Furiously Fertile explores a very modern problem in an uproariously funny way and, along the way, finds unexpected answers in Nic’s search for happiness.
As their relationship unfolds and some very raw emotions are exposed, the audience is taken on a heart-warming journey that results in a rewarding night of theatre.
Following the hilarious script reading featuring Julia Zemiro (Rockwiz) at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, this world premiere tour is directed by Sioban Tuke (Secret Bridesmaid’s Business) and will feature an award-winning cast including Daniela Farinacci (Lantana), Trudy Hellier (Frontline) and David Tredinnick (The Secret Life of Us).
Tickets are adults $37, concessions $29, under 21’s $22.
