More doctors for new practice

THE future of medicine in Coffs Harbour is here.

The Park Beach Family Practice was official opened earlier this week and the books are open for new patients.

“It’s an exceptional facility,” Healthscope Medical Centres’ national business development manager, John Burns, said.

“It’s certainly built for the future.”

The first stage of the centre has been open since November last year and now it has been officially opened staffing levels and available services will expand.

Mr Burns said doctors are moving to Coffs Harbour from interstate and the UK to join the new practice.

The service has 18 consultation rooms, a skin clinic, two procedure rooms and a set of rooms for visiting allied health professionals.

Patients can access a range of services, including childhood health checks, women’s health services, pathology services, men’s health, mental health care plans and much more.

“The community needs this sort of facility,” Mr Burns said.

The practice will offer training facilities for medical students and GP registrars.
