HACKERS have left a Gold Coast model and make-up artist struggling after they stole her Facebook page along with her more than one million followers.

Sarah Mudle has spent the past week scrambling to get her social media presence back after the online attack which stripped her of the right to edit her page, The Real Pink Pirate.

The Facebook page was vital to her business and showcased her extraordinary skills in special effects make-up.

She amassed a 1 million+ internet following last year after photos of her impressive horror make-up creations went viral.

Ms Mudle said she fell victim to the hacker on March 16 when he promised sponsored social media posts to her page.

"He had a legitimate marketing website, but somehow he removed me as an admin when I was transferring my page to my manager," Ms Mudle said.

It took the make-up artist more than five years to build up her social media presence.

Ms Mudle said on her personal Facebook page that the hacker had been messaging her followers claiming they had won a prize but would need to send money to collect.

In the same post she claimed the hacker had blackmailed her.

"Saying if I give him a 500k page he will give mine back," she wrote.

She said the hacker had been posing as her and encouraging them to click links which would lead them to an advertisement.

"As soon as fans report him or show support of me he blocks them from my page," she said.

The page has disappeared from Facebook which will inform users they have followed a broken link if they visit the site. However, it is reportedly still visible in some other countries.

Facebook has been contacted for comment.
