Minister to turn first sod at new RFS centre

RURAL Fire Service staff and volunteers will gather at Coffs Harbour at 3pm today to see the turning of the first sod for the construction of the new Mid North Coast Fire Control Centre.

The Centre will be built at the corner of Aviation Drive and Christmas Bells Road near Coffs Harbour Airport.

Tony Kelly, the NSW Minister for Emergency Services, will perform the honours as well as handing over several new fire trucks and presenting brigade manager Superintendent Warwick Roche with his 35 years long service medal.
