Mindless morons at it again

ONCE again we are reporting on mindless acts of vandalism on the Coffs Coast.

We don't want to. We'd much rather write about acts of generosity, or report on good news for the local tourism industry.

It's so easy to turn a blind eye to this sort of destruction by 'mindless morons'.

But we cannot ignore acts like the $50,000 worth of damage to the new development near Valla.

Vandals attacked not once but twice, wrecking signs and shelters as well as taking stainless- steel signs.

Somehow these idiots managed to elude security cameras on their rampage.

And we're not talking about a few damaged signs here, we're on about lamp posts torn down, ripped up asphalt and destroyed landscaping.

Somebody must know who these idiots are.

If you do, don't be afraid to come forward with information.

The beautiful Coffs Coast is doing it tough without this sort of criminal behaviour.

AND finally ... A big thank you to Grafton lady Shirley Hancock for the wonderful gesture to help our fire victim John McGrath.

John lost everything, bar his wok, in the blaze on Monday.

He had nowhere to sleep until Shirley stepped in. The wonderful human spirit lives on.
