Miguel’s berry nice visit to Cooloola

AUSTRALIA'S favourite Spaniard Miguel Maestre is singing the praises of the Coast's best berries.

The chef and Logie-winning presenter of The Living Room visited the Cooloola Berries farm for a segment which will feature on the lifestyle show tonight.

"In Australia we are so lucky to have delicious strawberries all year round and some of the very best are from here." he said.

Biting into a freshly picked berry, Maestre said: "That is the best strawberry I've had in years".

Inspired by the farm's no-waste approach, where they turn excess produce into a range of products like cider lemonade, ice cream, topping and jams, Miguel will show viewers his mouthwatering recipe for a no-bake strawberry cheesecake with a 'strawberry centre surprise '.

This isn't the chef's first visit to the Coast. Mr Maestre has been a guest of the Noosa Food and Wine Festival and has hosted dinners with renowned local chef Matt Golinski.

The Living Room airs tonight at 7.30 on Ten/WIN.
