Skin cancer fears for Migaloo

MIGALOO, the rare white humpback whale, could have skin cancer, researchers fear.

Scientists and tour operators were delighted when the veteran migrator was spotted off Southern NSW last week but red marks spotted on parts of his body have some experts concerned.

Oskar Peterson, from the White Whale Research Centre, told News.com the markings on Migaloo's dorsal fin were not a good sign and he hoped researchers would be able to get a better look at him when he takes a break in warmer Queensland waters in coming months.
