Men charged over domestic dispute
DETECTIVES have now charged two men over a domestic dispute which turned ugly in Coffs Harbour’s Bray Street.
A woman, 18, and her partner, had begun arguing at their home and another woman and three men arrived at the address about 1am on Sunday.
The three men entered the home, police allege.
The 29-year-old was allegedly punched to the ground and stomped on and kicked several times.
The young woman left, followed by the three men, but then a fight broke out in the front yard involving the 29-year-old and the other men.
Police allege the 29-year-old was further assaulted.
Investigators said the 29-year-old’s mother, who also lives at the house, was awoken by the melee and when she rushed to the aid of her son she was punched in the chest and knocked to the ground.
The alleged offenders fled the scene and police were called. The officers immediately established a crime scene.
The 29-year-old was taken to Coffs Harbour Health Campus where he was admitted for observation and treated for cuts and bruising.
A man, 25, has been charged with entering a building with intent, reckless wounding in company and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He was conditionally bailed to appear in Coffs Harbour Local Court on December 20.
Another man, 54, has been charged with reckless wounding in company and affray.
He is bailed to face Coffs Harbour Local Court on December 21.
"At this stage police do not anticipate any further arrests," said Coffs/Clarence investigations manager, Detective Senior Sergeant Peter O’Reilly.
