Melbourne City sign A-League veteran

EXPERIENCED left back Scott Jamieson has signed a four-year deal with Melbourne City.

The 28-year-old had been playing with Swedish side IFK Goteborg, but moves to City on a free transfer.

He has begun pre-season training and will be available for his new side's FFA Cup clash with Peninsula Power in the coming weeks.

City is Jamieson's fifth A-League club.

The four-time Socceroo has played 182 A-League games for Adelaide United, Sydney FC, Perth and Western Sydney.

He played 13 games in Sweden across 2016 and 2017.

The left-footer is new coach Warren Joyce's first signing since the Englishman was announced as City's new manager a fortnight ago.

"We've identified the need for a left-sided player who can fit our system and Scott not only possesses the right experience in this league, but also a strong determination and attitude that will complement the character of our squad," Joyce said.
