Matt Damon takes personal stand against Donald Trump
THE outcome of the Australian Federal Election might still be up in the air, but it's the US Presidential race that has Matt Damon worried.
The Oscar winner is in the country promoting his highly anticipated return to the Bourne franchise but it's his political views that might steal the spotlight.
After Damon walks the red carpet for the Jason Bourne premiere in Sydney tonight he will be seen on Channel 7's Sunday Night program in an in-depth interview about his personal campaign to thwart Donald Trump's chances of becoming president.
In preview footage of his interview with Rahni Sadler, the actor is seen calling Trump a "clown" and jokingly asks if he can move to Australia if Trump should succeed at the polls in November.
It's not the first time Damon has spoken out against Trump.
He also criticised Trump during a commencement speech at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Damon famously played an MIT janitor in his breakout role in Good Will Hunting) last month.
Jason Bourne opens in cinemas on July 28. Sunday Night airs tonight after the House Rules grand final.
