Maths Mind - Statistics

You have probably read , heard or even used statistical statements before. Things like 'about 20-25% of Australian children are overweight or obese' or '42% of children in Australia access the internet for two hours or less per week'.

The facts and figures collected on a particular subject can be very useful and can help us make better decisions. People working in certain occupations use statistical information to perform their job. For example jouirnalists or reporters use data in their news stories to support the informatiomn they are presenting to their readers.

In this week's NiE page we are going to look at how statistics are gathered and presented  as well as the problems with statistics.

Remember to check out the task cards for some fun and interesting activities.
