Market sale a success

GEOFF Smith and members of the Coffs Coast community have raised $8848.84 for the Victorian bush fire appeal with a two-day city centre market sale.

Geoff and Anne Smith, the owners of Lyndale Nursery and former Melbourne residents, worked tirelessly for a week to organise support, contact business firms and collect donations of all kinds of new goods. He said he wanted to thank all the people who donated goods and all the people who supported them by coming along to Palms Shopping to buy on Friday and Saturday, snapping up many bargains in the process.

He said he particularly wanted to thank Palms Shopping management for hosting the sale and the members of the nursery and horticultural industries who supported the sale so strongly.

Woolgoolga Lions Club, Bendigo Bank staff and the Coffs Coast Advocate also provided support and sponsorship.
