SAWTELL Swimming Club kids have blitzed the competition at the New South Wales Country Championships.

Held at Homebush in the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre, entries broke all records making this the biggest Country titles ever held.

A huge contingent from the Mid North Coast took part with Sawtell’s versatile representative Richie Goddard again among the medals.

He won his latest gold medal in the multi-classification 50m breaststroke in a personal best time of 38.01 seconds before taking on the able-bodied swimmers where he recorded 32.22 sec for the 50m butterfly and a PB 29.88 seconds the 50m butterfly.

Other results were: Alex Sutton (15 and over) 100 butterfly 59.79 PB, 50 backstroke 30.087 PB, 200 IM 2.21.87 PB, 50 breaststroke 33.69 and 100 freestyle 57.03.

Melissa Hely (15 and over) 100 butterfly 1:14.45, 50 freestyle 29.93, 100 backstroke 1:18.29, 100 freestyle 1:06.86, 50 butterfly 31.97 and 50 butterfly 35.89 PB.

Madeline Gough (11 years) 100 butterfly 1:17.93 PB, 50 freestyle 32.14 PB, 100 backstroke 1:23.06; (12 and under) 200 freestyle 2:29.54 PB and 50 backstroke 38.48.

Tara Brogmus (12 years) 50 freestyle 33.42 PB and 100 backstroke 1:20.96 PB.

Amanda Zerbe (12 years) 50 freestyle 29.82 PB, 100 backstroke 1:19.96 PB and 100 freestyle 1:05.19 PB.

Emma Goddard (15 and over) 50 breaststroke 39.19 and 100 freestyle 1:06.57.

Louise Stollery (15 and over) 200 IM 2:36.12 PB, 100 backstroke 1:15.08 PB, 200 breaststroke 2:55.08, 100 freestyle 1:05.16 and 50 butterfly 33.37.

Talissa Alford (11years) 50 backstroke 42.26.

Sawtell 12-year girls Amanda Zerbe, Tara Brogmus, Talissa Alford and Madeline Gough swum in the 4 x 50 freestyle relay to finish seventh in a PB of 2:08.54 before recording a PB 2:31.39 in the 4 x 50 IM relay.
