Man shot in face with bow and arrow after argument

BREAKING: A man shot in the face with a bow and arrow after an argument at a Toowoomba home will today undergo surgery as his attacker faces court.

The Darling Heights man, 30, was hit with the arrow on the right side of his face after an argument with another man, 36, at the property about 1am Sunday.

Toowoomba Criminal Investigation Branch Acting Senior Sergeant Brian Collins said the attacker found the weapon at the home and, when the argument continued, pointed it at the home occupant.

The men were known to each other, Act. Snr Sgt Collins said.

"The 30-year-old man is in hospital in a stable condition awaiting surgery," Act. Snr Sgt Collins said.

The 36-year-old was arrested and taken into custody where he was charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and several drug offences.

He will appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court today where police will object to any bail application.

The victim will undergo surgery on a cut to the right side of his face in hospital today.

Detectives have recovered the bow and arrow allegedly used in the offence.
