
Tree lopper killed by fallen tree
4PM: POLICE will prepare a report for the Coroner following the death of a tree lopper at Gleniffer.
The 24-year-old man was cutting down trees on a private property on Roses Road, north of Bellingen, about 10.40am today when one fell on him.
Police said the local man died at the scene.
Police from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command responded to the incident and secured a crime scene.
WorkCover officers are conducting inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the man's death.
A brief of evidence will be prepared by police for the information of the NSW Coroner.
11AM: A MAN has died after he was struck by a falling tree near Bellingen this morning.
Police said the incident, which is currently under investigation happened along Roses Rd on private property at 10.35am.
Emergency services on scene have confirmed a man, believed to be aged in his early 20s, has been killed.
A crime scene has been established and it is understood that Workcover have been advised.
Police said investigations are continuing into the incident and more details will be released later today.
