Man flees empty-handed after attempted Coffs liquor holdup

COFFS Harbour police are appealing for information following an attempted armed robbery in the city overnight.

About 8.20pm, police were called to a liquor store on Park Avenue after the 27-year-old shop attendant was confronted by a man armed with a knife, demanding money.

Two vehicles entered the drive-thru of the store and the man ran from the area.

No one was hurt and no money or property was stolen.

The man has been described to police as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his late 20s, about 175cm tall with a slim build and blond hair.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a white mask, black hooded jumper, long black pants and grey shoes.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
