Man escapes injury

A URUNGA man, 29, escaped serious injury in a Pacific Highway smash early yesterday.

Police said the man's Commodore sedan ran off the road at Urunga, near Newry Island Drive, at 5am and struck a tree.

The man was thrown from the vehicle, and was taken to Coffs Harbour Health Campus.

Police inquiries continue.

Disturbed

INTRUDERS fled from the Shearwater Restaurant at The Promenade in Coffs Harbour overnight on Monday. Police said they forced a door lock and smashed glass some time between 11.30pm and 1.45am, and ran away empty-handed when they triggered an alarm.

Drug found

A MAN, 30, will face court for alleged cannabis possession.

Police searched the man's four-wheel-drive in Jordan Esplanade, Coffs Harbour, at 11.50pm on Monday, and seized six grams of cannabis.
