Man cops fine for trying to contact former partner

ATTEMPTING to contact his former partner has resulted in a man facing Hervey Bay Magistrate Court on two counts of contravening a domestic violence order.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to the charges on Friday.

The court heard he had attempted to contact his former partner via texts and video calls.

He had no prior criminal history.

He was fined $400 and no conviction was recorded.
