Man charged over Woolgoolga ram raids

A MAN has been charged in relation to last month's ram raids at Woolgoolga.

Police responded to reports a car had rammed through the front roller door of the Super Cellars bottle shop in Beach St on Wednesday, October 22 around 2.10am. 

It is alleged two intruders stole alcohol and a cash register from this premises.

Twenty minutes later, police received reports of a similar incident at the United service station on Solitary Island Way.

At this address, two males allegedly threatened the console operator with knives before leaving with cash and cigarettes.

Following investigations by Coffs Clarence detectives a 20-year-old man was today charged at Tamworth Police Station.

The man was remanded in custody charged with aggravated robbery armed with offensive weapon, aggravated break enter and steal, steal motor vehicle and larceny.

He is due to appear in Tamworth Local Court on December 9. 

Police said the investigation continues.

The man was also charged over the ram raid on the Woolgoolga Super Cellars in Beach St.
