Man charged with killing his family

A MAN has been charged over the gruesome stabbing murders of his parents and brother in Sydney on the weekend.

In what police have described as a "horrific" scene, the bloodied bodies of elderly couple Pablo and Olga Novosadek and their 42-year-old son Raul were found in their St Johns home on Sunday morning.

The family's two pet dogs had also been butchered.

The Novosadek's other son Carlos Lopez, 44, was found injured in another room and taken to hospital.

On Tuesday evening he was charged with three counts of murder and two counts of torture, beat and cause death of an animal.

He was given a bedside hearing at the Liverpool hospital where he remains under police guard.

Lopez will front the Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday, August 8.
