Mals quick in a dash

THE Coffs Harbour and District Sporting Car Club conducted a Flat Track event last Sunday at The Coffs Harbour Motorcycle Club Complex.

It is the first time in many years since the club utilised the facility and it was a huge success.

A field of 20 drivers put their skills and machine to the tricky test. Mal Keogh driving his well tuned Datsun 1600, was the quickest on the day.

“The first few runs were a good opportunity to learn the track so I could push the limits as I progressed through the day,” Keogh said.

“It has also been a good opportunity to test the car out in the lead up to the Coffs Coast Rally in May.”

Club vice-president Troy O’Doherty, was very pleased with the success of the day.

“Being able to utilise the Motorcycle Club facility and its infrastructure has been an overwhelming success and many thanks goes out to the Motorcycle Club,” he said.

The CH&DSCC hope to run more events at the complex throughout the year.

In addition to this type of event, they will conduct Motorkhanas and Khanacross events involving junior drivers. To find out more information, contact Scott Bedford on 0408 867 990.
