Mal's losing the lot to help

WHEN a good friend of Mal Stewart’s died of cancer aged 60, Mal wanted to do something to help.

His friend’s father and grandfather had also passed away from cancer and, at age 60, his friend made it to an older age than either of them.

Mal was unsure how he could help until he realised he had one asset that he could sell to the highest bidder – his hair.

“Mal has had long hair for most of his life and his wife loves his long locks, but for a greater cause he has decided to shave them off,” said Fiona Foulkes from the Cancer Council.

“By shaving off his hair he will be raising money for the Cancer Council to help fund cancer research, information and support services for cancer patients and their families.

“His wife may have the last laugh though as one of her good school friends is going to be taking the scissors to Mal.”

The head shave will take place at Bex Hair in Nana Glen today about 2pm.
