Local longboard champ’s surf video goes viral online
LOCAL surfer Harley Ingleby is making waves again.
This time it's a video of his longboarding trip to Indonesia that's garnering attention.
The footage was filmed entirely on a GoPro Hero 3+ portable action camera.
GoPro is one of Harley's sponsors and the video was uploaded to the official GoPro YouTube page.
The video, which was uploaded in January, has now surpassed 130,000 online views.
Despite being less than three minutes long, the video manages to capture not just the surf, but some of Harley's experiences as he interacts with locals and explores Indonesia's Telo Island.
Harley grew up in Emerald Beach and has been surfing since age four.
After finishing study at Woolgoolga High School, Harley followed the Australian Longboard Circuit and competed on the World Longboard Tour as a full time athlete.
As a two-time ASP World Longboard Champion, Harley is a star not only at home on the Coffs Coast but also on the global surf stage.
While still competing, the champion surfer is now passing his skills on to a new generation of athletes at the Solitary Islands Surf School.
The school, which he operates with mate Darryn Quigley, has locations across the Coffs Coast including Woolgoolga and Emerald Beach.
