Mackay City Band searching for new players
THE reinvented Mackay City Band is searching for new members.
The former brass band, established since the 1920s, is now a concert band and needs people who can play a wind, brass or percussion instruments.
There are members in the band who can provide tuition on various instruments to players.
This year the Mackay City Band performed the Anzac Day hymns during the morning service.
Other shows this year include the Rotary Christmas fair, Habana Christmas carols and various other public performances and Christmas concerts.

The band will perform at the Greenmount Homestead 100 year celebration heritage fair at Walkerston on Sunday.
Rehearsals are on Monday nights from 7pm-9pm at the band hall in Leisure St, near the Mackay Stadium, but the band occasionally adds extra rehearsals when preparing for an upcoming concert.
Membership fees are $120 per adult per year (or $100 early bird discount) and $60 for students ($50 early bird).
The band recently set up a new website, mackaycityband.weebly.com, where people can learn more about the band, look at photos, read about director Alan White and check out upcoming performances.
