Luke in field of his own

IT is a real joy watching young swimmers when they just “get it”.

It was one of those moments last week when Luke Field powered home with an 11-second personal-best swim in his 50m individual medley.

This coupled with two additional personal-best times on the night earned him the highest pointscore of the evening which results in him being the Sawtell Swim Club Swimmer of the Week.

Training three mornings a week with Tim and Eugene at Sawtell has helped launch Luke into the thick of school swimming having successfully defended his eight years boy freestyle at district level. He will now continue on to Zone level.

When not in the pool, Luke joins his family at the beach for another round of swimming, board and wave riding.

On firm ground Luke enjoys tennis at the courts in Sawtell and would love to play basketball in the Saturday comp if he could find enough players to make up a team.
