Luke about to hit the road and push pedals for charity

THE NATIONALS Member for Cowper, Luke Hartsuyker, commences his annual three day charity bike ride through the electorate on Monday.

With the support of principal sponsor BCU, the dedicated cyclist will ride 104km from Maclean to Nana Glen on the first day.

All funds raised this year will go to the Mid North Coast Disabled Surfers' Association, Kempsey's Macleay Vocational College and the Maclean Hospital Auxiliary.

Before the ride begins, a community morning tea will be held at the Maclean BCU branch in River Street before Cr Jim Simmons waves the starter's flag.

Another fundraiser will be held at noon with a community luncheon at the BCU branch in Grafton Shoppingworld.

On Tuesday, Mr Hartsuyker will be at Woolgoolga BCU at 9am, Park Beach Plaza branch at 10.30am and then on for a barbecue lunch prepared by Valla Lions Club at Urunga at 12.30pm.
