Low dose quality imaging improves patients' comfort

MAMMOGRAPHIC imaging plays a vital role in women's health and Bundaberg Radiology have recently invested in being able to provide the latest in technology to their very important local patients.

The new Planmed Clarity mammography system has been designed to provide excellent image quality, a low effective patient dose and make breast exams as easy and encouraging as possible.

Now located at the Takalvan Street practice, the team at Bundaberg Radiology understand that this type of appointment can create apprehensions for the patient.

They have a specially designed room, complete with dedicated pre-appointment change area, the targeted aim to relax the patient as much as possible.

The newly installed equipment was recently awarded a prestigious Red Dot design award (2016) for its eye-catching and functional design, which also enhances ergonomics.

The rounded edges and materials are designed to be comfortable against the patient's skin and include a contoured chin guard so the patient can rest their face gently out of the way during the examination.

Patients can also be imaged in their wheelchair so there is no need to move to a different chair for the examination.

A mammogram can sometimes feel like an uncomfortable examination and new technology such as this which is designed to make the patient as comfortable as possible, is as a real plus.

The whole team at Bundaberg Radiology are extremely excited about this new piece of modern equipment.
