Kira faces fears for charity

KIRA Love is terrified of snakes but will face her fear all in the name of cancer.

As team captain of a Relay For Life team, The Fix Its, Miss Love has been dared to have a snake draped over her neck in return for a donation of $300.

“I’ve been scared of snakes for as long as I can remember,” she said.

“Growing up on a dairy farm gave me a healthy respect for them as brown and black snakes were not uncommon.”

Local snake handler Steve McEwan is on board to donate his time and a snake all for a good cause. Mr McEwan will allow Miss Love to handle four-year-old python Barbie. She is 3.5m long.

Miss Love said a lot of people were eager to see the outcome of the dare as they knew of her fear.

“My mum, cousin and even Steve, all seem to not be able to wait for this to happen.”

The dare will be aired live on CHYFM radio next Wednesday morning with Matt and Damo on The Switch after 8am.
