Love Express is ready to charge
HORSE RACING: He's only had two starts, but Sunshine Coast trainer Gary Duncan says Love Express is in prime form to chase victory at Corbould Park on Wednesday.
The gelding will contest the $27,500 two-year-old maiden plate (1200m) during a metro meet at the Sunshine Coast turf Club.
Love Express has just started his racing career and placed second in his first two runs.
Duncan expected him to be among the frontrunners again on his third outing.
"He's had two starts for two seconds and both times he's been beaten by a promising horse,” Duncan said.
"That should give him some hope.”
Jockey Adam Sewell will be in the saddle for the trip.
"He's just come back from a broken collarbone,” Duncan said.
"He's only had a couple of rides back and he does a bit of work for me so I thought I'd give him a ride.”
He'll be just one of five runners for Duncan with the trainer also set to unleash Speaking Bad in race one, Barnsley in race four, Jackpot in race six and Rising Stock in race seven.
He said Barnsley was another he fancied to be chasing victory.
"He'd be a good chance and has been working pretty well,” he said.
It's an eight-race card.
