Louez leads field after first round

BEFORE the first tee shot was even struck, it was predicted the cream would rise to the top in the Coffs Harbour Golf Club club championships and the opening round has proven that.

When the second round begins this morning, high calibre players such as North Coast Open winners Tim Hyland and Logan Toms, former club champion Shane Cutmore will be chasing young gun Aden Louez, who currently leads the pack.

Louez leads Hyland by a stroke with Toms a further shot back.

The nett figures for Coffs Harbour's A-grade golfers shows a tightly packed leaderboard.

Louez is one of four players who shot a nett 69 last week while there's another dozen players all within three shots of the leaders.

In B grade Daryl Parmenter is leading Paul Mealey by two strokes in the gross competition and Dave Lamb by two shots in the nett list.

The C-grade field is being led on gross scores by Garry Forster while Todd Towler is the nett leader.
