Lost photos spark search for owner
A COFFS HARBOUR mother has begun a quest to reunite a family with some precious memories.
Chantelle Melleuish's son, Isaiah, found a memory stick at the North Coast Regional Botanic Garden two years ago.
Isaiah took a liking to the USB and it quickly got lost among the trinkets in his toy box and forgotten about.
Fast forward to 2011 and Ms Melleuish discovered the USB when she was doing some computer work.
To her surprise she found a treasure trove of special snaps.
"When I looked at the files, it had family photos; a child's birthday and even pictures of a baby just after birth. There are files and files of photos," said Ms Melleuish.
Most of the photos are taken during December 2008 and January 2009. They feature a young couple and their son and possibly the boy's grandparents.
"I felt so bad that I'd forgotten we had it, or that I didn't just hand it in to the gardens office when we found it," said Ms Melleuish.
"As a mum I know how you'd feel losing those precious moments, especially the birth. You can't replace those."
Most of the photos appear to be of the family camping on the Coffs Coast.
Some snaps feature a first birthday party with a train cake made for "Gene and Bodhi".
If you know the people in the photos we can help return the USB to them.
