Quest to find the owner of a clever parrot
SITTING on her balcony Petta Longstaff couldn't believe it when this rainbow lorikeet lept up on her shoulder and whispered in her ear that he loved her.
Since that chance encounter, the clever parrot has taken up residency in her Victoria St home.
"He's amazing, he has an outstanding vocabulary, talks all day," Petta said.
"He tells me he loves me, whistles to me and kisses me on the face.
"Obviously there is someone out there who must be upset with the loss of such a beautiful bird.
The lorikeet was found after the big storm hit Coffs Harbour at Easter.
"I have bought him a cage although he just likes to sit on my shoulder, but he won't let me touch him.
"I would keep him, but the problem is I have a cat and he sure needs a lot of attention
The lorikeet flew off for a day and returned to Petta's home on Thursday.
