Looking for new yachties

HAVE you ever wondered what it's like to go sailing off our beautiful shores?

If you have, then the Coffs Harbour Yacht Club may have just the answer to help you satisfy your curiosity and discover your 'nautical' side.

Over the winter months, a group of local yacht owners are offering the use of their boats every Thursday afternoon so people can try their hand at sailing.

For the past 27 years a fleet of sailors have arrived at Coffs Harbour from Pittwater in January and marvelled at the yachting opportunities that exist here and Coffs Harbour Yacht Club would like to see more people enjoy that experience.

Some prerequisites are required to be able to participate on a Thursday afternoon but interested parties are asked to voice their expression of interest quickly as there are already only limited spaces available on each yacht.

Skipper of Renee, Garry Innes, says the best chance for any prospective sailors to find out more is by heading to the Yacht Club Tuesday evening.

From there, the chance to get your sea legs begins.
