Long-time business set to swing north

AN INSTITUTION for local golfers is set for a major change, but there are no plans to fade away just yet.

Gripped on Golf on Nicklin Way at Minyama is set to relocate north to Noosa Golf Club on Cooroy Noosa Road, after 17 years of trading alongside the busy coastal road.

Co-owner Anthony Edwards said they were already operating the pro shop up at Noosa Golf Club and had decided to merge all their operations into the one location.

Mr Edwards runs the business alongside Scott Olander and Shane Healey.

A closing down sale was currently being held at the popular golf shop, and Mr Edwards said they would be out of their current store by the end of November.

“We’ll probably trade until the end of October,” he said.

“A lot of the regulars have said they’ll come up and see us (at the new location).”

The trio, all PGA professionals, formed a company in 2011 and took over Gripped on Golf.

Mr Olander was a hitting partner of US PGA Tour player and Peregian Beach product Steven Bowditch.
